Led by juniors Casey Schauman and Kasi West who had nine kills and 15 assists, respectively, the Lady Wildcats’ volleyball team shellacked the Brevard Heat,  a conglomeration of home-schooled players, in three sets Thursday night, 25-10, 25-14, 25-10

“It was a really slow game while we were playing,” junior Kaitlin Inganna said. “The other team didn’t really pass that much, so it ended quickly and there were no rallies.”

Sophomores Megan Green and Mary Grace Lally turned in a combined 11 kills, and Inganna says that it was great for the younger girls to get some playing experience.

“It was really great for our inexperienced players to contribute to a real varsity game,” Inganna said. “It boosted their morale, and winning like that is always fun.”

The team improved to 3-6 on the season, having beaten Space Coast 3-1 on Wednesday night.

The Lady Wildcats continue play on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at Covenant Christian High School, with J.V. and Varsity playing at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., respectively.
